Looking Out is from my series called Suggestions. I have always seen nebulous forms in shadows, doors, windows, and atmosphere. In these paintings I am starting with an abstract expressionist surface and letting the colors suggest a form to me. In this one I began to see an eye and a cheek bone on the left side so I built the painting around that suggestion.
