Bluestone Lake is a beautiful vista of this peaceful setting in West Virginia in the Blue Ridge Mountains. This is one of many places in the Blue Ridge where my husband researches bird and butterfly populations.
My husband, Clyde Kessler, is from Ferrum, VA and has been studying this region since he was a boy. His maternal grandmother got him interested in wildlife and he has spent much of his time trying to get others involved in the preservation of this wonderful region. He works closely with the Blue RIdge Discovery Group which has the aim of getting children outdoors to study and appreciate our surroundings.
I am especially pleased with the interaction of warm and cool colors throughout the work. The break is about half way down the painting. The light is coming through a dense system of colorful clouds.
