Artist's Description
Apples and Flowers is an intense, intimate still life of golden delicious apples on a floral cloth with the same colors as the fruit and the bowl. The colors are strong and the painting has a cheerful impact on the viewer. The color and textures are continually modulated throughout the work. The painting is in a black compositie frame.
I love still lifes, especially ones with fruit. Sometimes the simplest object can become a strong visual experience. I always work hard to put the life in still life. I am very proud of one of my award-winning still lifes, Mary Beth's Gift. It placed second in the pastel division of an international show in Arizona.
