Tulip Burst is an exceptionally sensuous, sensitive, whimsical floral. This painting was done from my imagination and I am especially pleased with the color patterns, brushwork, and soft, glowing surface. I love to work with complementary colors and the over all orange blue effect in this one is especially appealing. If viewers look at each tulip they will see a continual change in color and texture. The color nuances in each flower emphasis the blue-orange color scheme in the whole painting.
I like to paint flowers but my favorite flower is the tulip. I love the shape and how fields of them look. Since the petals are mostly together on a center axis, the color is especially vibrant in a green surrounding. I don't grow flowers but my husband likes to garden and we have some beautiful tulips, roses, and cone flowers. I love to watch the different types of light on the surfaces, especially in the evening when the cool colors are easier to see in the shadows.
