Country Sunset is a beautiful evening vista in this gorgeous mountain region. I am especially pleased with the color nuances in the sky that vibrate and illuminate the landscape. I love to travel The Blue Ridge Parkway with my husband, Clyde Kessler, for painting ideas and like many artists and photographers I love the magic hour when cool colors are much easier to see.
This is a low level impasto painting. The brushwork is expressive and serene. One of my favorite comments from a patron was that she loved how she could see the elevated brushwork in the large canvas print she bought.
The painting is on stretched canvas without frame.
