Side Street is an exuberant couples painting. The two figures are together in the rain on a city side street. It is as if they are the only people and the scene is theirs for the moment. The girl has the umbrella but the guy is content to walk in the rain. I am especially pleased with the vibrant color contrast and complex brushwork in this painting.
