Ocean Sunset is one of my favorite pastel paintings. The oil pastel was applied in many layers and the resulting textural complexity is beautiful. I love the ocean and am not happy if I don't get to the shore at least once a year. I am especially happy with the flickering light on the water and the variety of color nuances in this work.
