Burning Shore is another of my small gem series. My family spent our summers at the shore and I am not happy if I don't get to the ocean once a year.
This evening shore scene has an intense color contrast that I think is very much like the color achievements of Van Gogh who I am often compared to. I call it Burning Shore because of the strong color contrast of the warm and cool colors on the water.
The orange and pinks of the sky give the the ocean such a vibrant look that it is almost like the water is on fire. The burning does not refer to a negative experience, but, rather a positive reaction to the wonders of evening light which I think everyone enjoys.
