Had a great time at Claytor Lake yesterday and, of all things, got to see an African python up close! There is a Discovery Center exhibit there 10 am to 5 pm Wednesdays through Saturday for a while.
Most of the wildlife species are local but one of the curators had a python that kids were having a great time petting on the grass!
Here is one of my few snake paintings that was done for Fiddling at Midnight's Farmhouse!

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler
Well, in addition to a new car, we are getting a new roof and it is half on. Lots of expense this year! I hope the other car lasts a few more years.
These roofers have been interesting to say the least. When I came home from Line Dancing Class last Tuesday night there was a truck loaded with roofing supplies sitting in our driveway. Clyde didn't see it drive up.
We figured they would be starting the next day. Well, the next day no one came. Clyde said if they didn't show up he was the owner of a very worn truck with the supplies we paid for.
Clyde called and was told the supervisor's wife went into labor and that is why they didn't show. Okay, the next day they showed up with a crew that should be listed in the Restricted Version of Home Repair. One of the guys need the "F" word in every sentence.
They worked hard for two days and the roof looks great! They said they wanted to work over the weekend so they could get the job done by early next
week. No one showed. No one called.
I think I need to introduce this crew to the telephone. It is a great modern convenience.
